Here we go with more ramblings from the underground……….
Illudium is a Dreamgaze/Post-Metal project from here in Northern California out of Santa Cruz. They are about to release their 2nd full-length album on October 15, 2021, but you can purchase a digital/vinyl/CD copy pre-order through bandcamp and receive two digital singles (Semperviens/Soma Sema).
“Ash of the Womb”, the sophomore full-length from California’s ILLUDIUM was born in the fiery pandemonium of the burning season of 2020 when huge tracts of the sunshine state went up in flames, while skies glowed orange at night. The many layers of dark and harsh metal shading on this album can easily be seen as a residue from those events.…….

The video below for the single Soma Sema has generate 5,000 plus view in under one month.

Huma Utku is an experimental ambient artist who fuses traditional turkish instruments with techno, ambient and drone textures. She released her first ep “Seb-i Yelda” 3 years ago under for former moniker R.A.N. on Karl Records. Also on the same label, she released 2 years ago another album entitled Gnosis. You can check her bandcamp to purchase available copies.
Between these albums, the pandemic and now, she has been involved in DJing online radio residences, performed on the Sonic Liberation Front program and been in various live/virtual performances. A matter of fact she will be performing an event in Berlin this Saturday August 28th. You can look up event details on Digital Berlin or Mahalla Berlin instagram accounts.

Finally, Gerpfast Records an independentunderground label from Indonesian that produces experimental, grindcore, pop, shoegaze and metal music has started a Home Session series. The first two artist to chirsten teh program are both cut-up experimental noise musicians: SCUM and IZUMI KAWASAKI (video performances are below via YouTube). As Gerpfast Records put it, this is an Online Residency program.
I am happy to see these artist of this genre finally have an opportunity to perform in a residency for us to watch online from their private space. If, we could get these to perform live here in the North and South America territory and work their way toward Europe, Africa and Australia/New Zealand, etc. This open some doors for other artist and begin a dialogue and transverse toward a bigger communal channel of communication and comadery. Also, Gerpfast Records has a nice write up on Bandcamp Daily. It’s a good read.
I know Iannis Xenakis and Sun Ra are resting peaceful in theirs graves as the living precessors of experimental noise music like Merzbow, Masonna/Controlled Death and Torturing Nurse, etc. along with the artist above have a label like Gerpfast Recordsto create a space to explore, perform, share and create the art of experimental noise a.k.a. noisecore.
